How to set up a phone call reminder
Setting one up takes four steps. Create a free account, record a short message in your own voice, and choose the date and time. The phone rings at the exact time you pick.
Create your account
Sign up free at ontimecall.com. No credit card is required. Add a UK, US or Canadian phone number. Starter and Focus call your own number.
See UK numbers and US numbers for local details. Canada uses the same scheduler.
Write your reminder message
Record your voice on any plan, or use AI text-to-speech from Focus and up. Keep it to 55 seconds and lead with the action.
Pick your schedule
Set a one-time date and time on any plan. Recurring calls (daily, weekdays, or custom days) start on Focus.
Receive the reminder call
At the scheduled time, On Time Call rings the phone with your message.
What you can use reminder calls for
A reminder call can cover a wake-up, medication, an appointment, study, a motivational nudge, or a wellness check. To ring your own phone, read how to call yourself. A morning call can also work as a phone call alarm.
Recorded voice or AI voice
Record your own voice on every plan, in any language. On paid plans, starting with Focus, you can type a message and use AI text-to-speech in English. The free Starter plan is voice recording only.
Keep the recording to 55 seconds. You can schedule the same call reminder from the Android app.
One-time or recurring reminder calls
Starter includes 3 free calls, one-time, and no recurring calls. Focus, Support, and Pro add recurring reminder calls: daily, weekdays, or custom days. See plan pricing for the monthly call allowance on each paid plan.
Script tips
- Stay within 55 seconds and lead with the action.
- Include the time, place, or phone number, and any prep.
- Use a name if you want the call reminder to sound personal. Use AI text-to-speech when you would rather type than record.
Delivery tracking: answered, unanswered, voicemail, failed
Your call history can show answered, unanswered, voicemail, or failed. Support and Pro can also email you about delivery, and Focus and Support can retry an unanswered or voicemail call. Starter records the outcome and does not retry automatically.
Phone call reminders vs notifications and SMS
A phone notification is easy to leave unread. A reminder call rings at the time you set, so it is harder to miss than a notification, and harder to skim past than an SMS. Compare reminder calls vs SMS reminders and reminder calls vs alarm apps.
Reminder calls for yourself vs for a business
For yourself and family
For yourself and family, reminder calls ring your own phone, or a family member's on Support (you plus up to 4 people), with your recorded message. They suit wake-ups, medication reminder calls, appointments, and daily wellness check-in calls. Starter and Focus stay on your own number. Support is the plan that adds those other people, and it emails you if a call is not answered. Starter includes 3 free calls, one-time, with no card. Repeating schedules start on Focus.
For a business or clinic
For a business or clinic, automated call reminders go to customers or patients before a booking. Today Support calls you plus up to 4 people. Pro, for up to 50 recipients, is coming soon. It is not a medical service. Read appointment reminder phone calls for businesses, medical appointment reminder calls, and an appointment reminder call script you can record.

Phone call reminder FAQ
What is a phone call reminder service?
A phone call reminder service places a real phone call at a time you choose, instead of sending an app notification. On Time Call is a call reminder service for UK, US, and Canada numbers. You record the message, or on a paid plan you use an AI voice, and the call rings at that time.
How do automated phone call reminders work?
You record a message, or on a paid plan you type one for an AI voice, then you pick a date and time. On Time Call places the automated phone call reminder when that time arrives. One-time calls are available on Starter, and daily or weekday repeats start on Focus.
Can I schedule a reminder call to my own phone?
Yes. Starter and Focus call your own number. Add that number, record a message, and set the time for the reminder call.
Can I send a reminder call to someone else?
Not on Starter or Focus, which are limited to your own number. Support lets you call yourself plus up to 4 other people. Pro is listed for up to 50 recipients and is marked Coming Soon on the plans page.
Is it free?
Yes. The Starter plan includes 3 free calls (one-time, no monthly reset) and no credit card is required. Those calls use your recorded voice, and AI text-to-speech plus recurring calls start on the Focus plan.
Can I use my own voice?
Yes. Every plan lets you record your own voice in any language, up to 55 seconds. AI text-to-speech in English starts on the Focus plan.
Can reminder calls repeat daily or on weekdays?
Yes, on Focus, Support, and Pro. You can repeat a call daily, on weekdays, or on custom days. The Starter plan has no recurring calls, so each call is one-time.
Where are calls supported?
On Time Call places calls to UK, US, and Canada numbers only. Add the number when you schedule the call. Numbers outside those countries are not accepted.
How long can a reminder call be?
Each reminder call can be up to 55 seconds. That limit applies to a recording and to AI text-to-speech audio. Lead with the action so the message fits.
What if my phone is on silent or Do Not Disturb?
A reminder call follows your phone's settings. Save our caller ID as a contact and allow it through your phone's Focus or Do Not Disturb so it rings. Silent mode and filters for unknown numbers can send the call to voicemail instead. The steps are in the guide to calls that are not ringing.
